Course information

This Diploma of Community Services has been designed for people wishing to gain employment in community services, case management and/or social housing. Graduates work in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.

After the completion of this course graduates will have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Graduates will be able to provide direct support to individuals as well as groups. They also have the responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management, program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

Entry requirements for the course include:

  • Completion of grade 10-12 or equivalent
  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) abilities.
  • Must be able to obtain a federal police check
  • Students may need a COVID-19 vaccine to begin work placement
Course Duration
  • Class attendance is scheduled for all units over a period of up to 12 months
  • Vocational placement is conducted over a 200 hour period (this is scheduled and planned with the student employer and vocational placement officer).
