Course information

This qualification represents the role of individuals working in various community settings and within people’s homes. Their primary objective is to provide support to individuals with disabilities in a way that empowers them to attain higher levels of independence, self-sufficiency, community engagement, and overall well-being.

These workers advocate for a person-centred approach, follow individualized plans, and can work independently without direct supervision. In some cases, they may also be tasked with supervising or coordinating a small team.

Eligibility Criteria

Entry requirements for the course include:

  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) abilities.
  • Completion of: CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

    OR

    Completion of: CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

    OR

    Completion of: CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability PLUS  the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.
