HLT61107 Advanced Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing)
 

An Advanced Diploma in Nursing is now available for Enrolled Nurses who have successfully completed and Approved Diploma of Nursing. The Advanced Diploma provides opportunity for the Diploma Enrolled Nurse to pursue specialty areas of interest in a guided adult learning environment.

Units completed in HLT61107 Advanced Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) may be eligible for credit in university programs.

Prerequisites: Must hold Diploma of Nursing or equivalent and be eligible for enrolment with the Nurses Board of SA.

HLTEN514A Apply research skills within a contemporary health environment

HLTEN610A Practise in the cardiovascular nursing environment
HLTEN612A Practise in the peri-operative nursing environment
HLTEN619A Manage clients and others experiencing loss and grief
HLTEN620A Practice in first line emergency nursing
HLTEN611A Apply principles of diabetic nursing care
HLTEN601A Practise in the orthopaedic nursing environment
HLTEN604A Practise in the neurological nursing environment
HLTEN602A Practice in the rehabilitation nursing environment
HLTEN615A Practice in the contemporary aged care environment
HLTEN616A Apply principles of stoma care
HLTIN504B Manage the control of infection
CHCCM3B Develop, Facilitate and monitor all aspects of case management
HLTEN603A Provide sexual and reproductive health care for clients
CHCCSL601A Work within a structured counselling process
CHCCSL602A Facilitate the counselling relationship
CHCCSL603A Provide support for clients implementing a course of action
CHCCSL604A Reflect and improve upon counselling skills
CHCAOD9C Assess the needs of clients who have alcohol and/or other drugs issues
CHCAOD9C Provide alcohol and/or other drug withdrawal services
CHCAOD11A Provide advanced interventions to meet the needs of clients with alcohol and/or other drug issues
CHCDIS1C Orientation to disability work
CHCDIS13A Support older people with disabilities

Clinical placement within a specialty area of 128 hours. Venue to be identified and arranged by student and approved by Celtic Training.

NOTE: Not all electives are available with every course. Additionally some electives will be only available depending on the arrangement of a suitable clinical placement.

All these units of competency are nationally accredited which means that the qualification you gain is recognised in every state in Australia. You will be able to build on this qualification to achieve a higher level of knowledge and skills to gain entry into other national accredited courses if you wish.

Length of Course: 24 weeks

Class room obligation: 1 day per week
